Question & Answer
Performing Ghusul in improper order.

I have been performing ghusul but in an improper oder. After wudhu instead of starting with pouring water on the head I instead start with the sides of the body ie left and right. Then the head. I hv just realized that its head first then the sides follows. Do I nid to reperfom ghusul. And are the prayers that I prayed with that improper ghusul valid or invalid.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We begin with Allah’s blessed name, we praise him and we glorify him, seek his forgiveness and ask him to guide us. Whoever Allah guides, None can lead astray and whoever he misguides, None can guide. There is no power and no strength except from Allah, The most high, the Most great, the most powerful. We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. We pray for peace and blessings on all the noble messengers and in particular on the last of them all “the blessed prophet Mohammad (pbuh)”

If one performs ghusul in an improper order i.e. not in the way our prophet did, then it would not be considered a proper ghusul. if a believer wants to purify him/herself, then one has to follow the prophet of allah(pbuh). Know How to perform GUSUL?

Dear brother, it is obligatory on every believer to acquire the knowledge of 'Deen', so that one may practice this beautiful 'Deen' called Islam properly. If the ghusul is not perfect then the prayer was also not perfect, as the key to the prayer is the purification. But if one is ignorant, there is no sin. You should continue to seek the knowledge of Islam because only Allah knows regarding how many matters you are still ignorant.

The acceptance and rejection of ones prayer is only unto Allah, one should do ones best to learn Islam and follow the 'Deen' as followed by the beloved messenger of Allah(pbuh). And Allah alone knows the best.

I ask Allah to make this a sincere effort, seeking his pleasure, and I ask him to grant us refuge in him from the evils within ourselves, and that in our deeds. I ask him to grant us success in achieving whatever pleases him; And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his family and his Companions and on all those who follow him until the final hour.
