Question & Answer
Why do some of the muslims go to mazar?

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We begin with Allah’s blessed name, we praise him and we glorify him, seek his forgiveness and ask him to guide us. Whoever Allah guides, None can lead astray and whoever he misguides, None can guide. There is no power and no strength except from Allah, The most high, the Most great, the most powerful. We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. We pray for peace and blessings on all the noble messengers and in particular on the last of them all “the blessed prophet Mohammad (pbuh)”

Allah says in the Glorious Quran: O Prophet, say to them, "Have you ever seen them with open eyes those whom you invoke instead of Allah? Show me what they have created in the earth? Or have they any share in the creation and control of the heavens? Bring me a Book revealed before this, or produce some remnant of knowledge in support of your beliefs if you are truthful." And who could be further astray than the one who invokes, instead of Allah, those who cannot answer him till the Day of Resurrection. Nay, they are even UNAWARE THAT THEY ARE BEING INVOKED. And when all mankind shall be gathered together (on the Day of Qiyamah), they (the so called leaders and intercessors) will become enemies of those who invoked them and they will DISOWN THEIR WORSHIP!!! Quran [46:4-6]

It is due to absolute ignorance and misguidance spread by some so-called scholars about the deen of Islam that lead some people to the graves of saints, like ajmir. Islam has strictly forbidden the believers from worshiping, supplicating, prostrating anyone or anything other than Allah.

And the dead and the living are not alike! Allah causes whomever He wills to hear, but you cannot make those who are buried in the graves to hear you. Quran [35:22]

These misguided believers believe that their supplications will only be answered if they are through the graves of saints, and they argue by giving the analogy of an officer and the peon or gatekeeper, (i.e. the officer can be only accessed through the peon), thus went on comparing the supremeness of Allah with the ordinary officer. This is absolute misguidance and is leading them to the mountainous sin of shirk.

Allah says in the glorious quran: And there is none like unto Him. Quran[112:4]

The word kufu' as used in the original means an example, a similar thing, the one equal in rank and position. Thus, the verse means that there is no one in the entire universe, nor ever was, nor ever can be, who is similar to Allah, or equal in rank with Him, or resembling Him in His attributes, works and powers in any degree whatever.

The blessed prophet has specifically forbidden the believers from undertaking a journey to any place of worship other than the three mosques: Masjid Haraam in Makkah, The Prophets Mosque in Medina, The Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem.

Jundub reported: I heard from the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) five days before his death and he said: I stand acquitted before Allah that I took any one of you as friend, for Allah has taken me as His friend, as he took Ibrahim as His friend. Had I taken any one of my Ummah as a friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a friend. Beware of those who preceded you and used to take the graves of their prophets and righteous men as places of worship, but you must not take graves as mosques; I forbid you to do that. Sahih Muslim [ Book 4 : Hadith 1083 ]

Allah says in the Glorious Quran: Tell them (O Mohamed), Should We tell you who are the most unsuccessful people and miserable failures in regard to their deeds? They are those, all whose endeavors in the worldly life, had gone astray from the Right Way, but all along they were under the delusion that everything they were doing, was rightly directed! Those are the people who rejected the Revelations of their Lord and did not believe that they would ever go before Him. Therefore all their deeds were lost, for We shall assign no weight to them on the Day of Resurrection. Their recompense is Hell for the disbelief they showed, and for the mockery they adopted in regard to My Aayahs and My Messengers! Quran [18:103-106] And Allah alone knows the best.

I ask Allah to make this a sincere effort, seeking his pleasure, and I ask him to grant us refuge in him from the evils within ourselves, and that in our deeds. I ask him to grant us success in achieving whatever pleases him; And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his family and his Companions and on all those who follow him until the final hour.
