Question & Answer
Is hazratbal the second kabah and can poors hajj be in hazratbal srinagar?

here in Kashmir, I have heard some people saying, hazratbal is the second kabah, and poors hajj is in hazratbal

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We begin with Allah’s blessed name, we praise him and we glorify him, seek his forgiveness and ask him to guide us. Whoever Allah guides, None can lead astray and whoever he misguides, None can guide. There is no power and no strength except from Allah, The most high, the Most great, the most powerful. We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. We pray for peace and blessings on all the noble messengers and in particular on the last of them all “the blessed prophet Mohammad (pbuh)”

It is nothing short of misguidance, if any one believes that hazrathbal is the second ‘kabah’.

Allah says in the Glorious Quran: Undoubtedly the first House of Worship ever to be built for mankind is the one which is at Makkah. It was blessed, and made the center of guidance for all the peoples. In it are clear Signs; there is a spot where Ibraheem used to worship; and it is the Santuary, and whoever enters it becomes safe and secure. Allah has, therefore, a right on the people that the one, who can afford to reach the house, should perform Hajj there. And the one who disobeys (this commandment should know that) Allah is Self-Sufficient, and does not stand in need of anyone. Quran [3:96-97]

Dear brother, the obligation of hajj is to be fulfilled in the sacred house no matter whether one is rich or poor.

It is indeed true that some people in Kashmir think that, since the prophets(pbuh) hair is preserved in hazratbal, so it is a sacred house or sometimes go to the extent and start comparing it with the holy kabah, but the truth is that these are the minority ignorant people and The efforts are on to educate these people to drag them out of ignorance.

Hazratbal is a masjid where the people claim that the prophets(pbuh) hair is preserved. If it is true that they indeed have the authentic hair of the blessed prophet(pbuh) still this masjid cannot be equal to the sacred house.

Because, The Sacred House is full of blessings: the blessing of winning the Good Pleasure of Allah, the blessing of refraining from harming people, the blessing of having your soul filled with faith, the blessing of fearing Allah and the blessing of killing pride in the soul. Without regard to social status, every human being in the Sacred House of Allah is equal to his fellow humans. Only in that House is the blessing that every Salah (offered Prayer) is worth the reward of a hundred thousand offered prayers and the blessing of multiplying the good deeds. Moreover, if the Salah is worth a hundred thousand offered prayers, a good deed is also worth a hundred thousand good deeds, whereas in places other than the Sacred House of Allah, it is worth tenfold the like thereof.

The holy ‘kabah’ is the first house of worship and Allah commands “who can afford to reach the house, should perform Hajj there”. Thus hajj is fulfilled only in sacred house. And Allah alone knows the best.

I ask Allah to make this a sincere effort, seeking his pleasure, and I ask him to grant us refuge in him from the evils within ourselves, and that in our deeds. I ask him to grant us success in achieving whatever pleases him; And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his family and his Companions and on all those who follow him until the final hour.
