بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
We begin with Allah’s blessed name, we praise him and we glorify him, seek his forgiveness and ask him to guide us. Whoever Allah guides, None can lead astray and whoever he misguides, None can guide. There is no power and no strength except from Allah, The most high, the Most great, the most powerful. We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. We pray for peace and blessings on all the noble messengers and in particular on the last of them all “the blessed prophet Mohammad (pbuh)”
Dear brother, the first part of the hadith says “O young people! Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him to lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.)” i.e. if one is unable to control ones physical desire then one should marry if one can do so; because marrying will help one to satisfy ones physical desires and would in turn help one to lower ones gaze and guard ones modesty.
And the second part says “whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power”. I.e. if for any reason one is unable to or has to delay the process of marriage, then one should fast, as fasting diminishes ones sexual thirst. One can fast for one or more days depending up on ones decrease in sexual thirst with each passing fasting day, here it important to note that one has to fast voluntary on consecutive days, like Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday etc. because voluntary fasting continuously is prohibited in Islam, it is also prohibited to fast on Eid-ul-Fitr (1st Shawwal) and Eid-ul-Adha (10th Dhul-Hijja) and on Fridays alone, unless one fasts either a day before (Thursday) or a day after (Saturday) with it. And Allah alone knows the best.
I ask Allah to make this a sincere effort, seeking his pleasure, and I ask him to grant us refuge in him from the evils within ourselves, and that in our deeds. I ask him to grant us success in achieving whatever pleases him; And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his family and his Companions and on all those who follow him until the final hour.Ask Your Question
