Question & Answer
Hadis qudsi are not given through angel jibreel and some predictions about the future are given by prophet himself?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We begin with Allah’s blessed name, we praise him and we glorify him, seek his forgiveness and ask him to guide us. Whoever Allah guides, None can lead astray and whoever he misguides, None can guide. There is no power and no strength except from Allah, The most high, the Most great, the most powerful. We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. We pray for peace and blessings on all the noble messengers and in particular on the last of them all “the blessed prophet Mohammad (pbuh)”

Hadis qudsi are the hadith that are reported by the messenger of Allah from Allah i.e. their authority (Sanad) is traced back not to the Prophet but to the Almighty Allah, which means, The meaning is from Allah and the wording is from the prophet(pbuh).

It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by the sending of a messenger to reveal, with Allah´s permission, what Allah wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise. Quran [42:51]

Based on this verse we can enumerate three kinds of wahi.

  1. Allah directly inspired the prophet without the medium of an angel, i.e. inspiration was directly on the heart, either in full consciousness or during sleep.
  2. Allah directly conveyed the message to the prophet behind a veil, without the medium of an angel.
  3. Allah conveyed the message to the prophet through an angel jibreel (AS).

The fist and the second type of wahi comes under the heading of ‘Wahi khafee’ and the third comes under the heading of ‘Wahi Jalee’.

The glorious Quran was revealed through the ‘wahi jalee’, ie jibreel(AS) acted as a medium. Other than the precise and clear message of the glorious Quran, Allah also sent other messages directly to the heart of prophet through ‘wahi khafee’, and these messages are the hadith.

Hadis qudsi are not given through angel jibreel

Indeed hadith qudsi where directly inspired on the heart of prophet(pbuh), and angel jibreel (AS) was not the medium.

and some predictions about the future are given by prophet himself?

The future i.e. what will happen tomorrow or after a year or after centuries is the knowledge of unseen, and the knowledge of the unseen is known to none but Allah alone.

The blessed prophet Mohammad has indeed spoken about the future events, like the coming of dajjal, or other things, but these news were inspired on him by Allah through ‘wahi khafee’.

Allah says in the glorious Quran: Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. Quran [53: 2-4]

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed. Quran[3:44]

The blessed prophet was always under the guidance of the lord, and whatever he did or said was under the precise command of almighty Allah.

Allah says in the glorious Quran: Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. It is not but a revelation revealed, Quran [53:3-4] And Allah alone knows the best.

I ask Allah to make this a sincere effort, seeking his pleasure, and I ask him to grant us refuge in him from the evils within ourselves, and that in our deeds. I ask him to grant us success in achieving whatever pleases him; And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his family and his Companions and on all those who follow him until the final hour.
