Question & Answer
Reality of ISIS (Islamic state of Iraq and syria)?

what is the reality of ISIS operating in Iraq and Syria?

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We begin with Allah’s blessed name, we praise him and we glorify him, seek his forgiveness and ask him to guide us. Whoever Allah guides, None can lead astray and whoever he misguides, None can guide. There is no power and no strength except from Allah, The most high, the Most great, the most powerful. We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. We pray for peace and blessings on all the noble messengers and in particular on the last of them all “the blessed prophet Mohammad (pbuh)”

According to Islamic law a believer has to stand on the side of truth, no matter who the guilty is, be a Muslim, a relative or anyone else. The job of a Muslim is to speak truth and we are following the same guidance.

Allah says in the glorious Quran: You (the Muslims) are the best community which has been raised up for the guidance of mankind: you enjoin what is Right, and forbid what is evil; and you believe in Allah. Quran [3:110]

O you who have believed! You be the standard-bearers of justice and witnesses for the sake of Allah; even though your justice and your evidence might be harmful to yourselves, or to your parents, or to your relatives. It does not matter whether the party concerned is rich or poor: Allah is their greater well-wisher than you. Therefore, do not follow your own desire lest you should deviate from doing justice. If you distort your evidence or refrain from the Truth, know it well that Allah is fully aware of what you do. Quran [4:135]

The scholars of Islam consider ISIS (Islamic state of Iraq and syria) a terrorist organization, for the crime they have done against the humanity. Let me mention few of their many crimes:

1. The ISIS is responsible for killing thousands of innocent people (most of them Muslims) in Iraq and Syria.

Allah Says in the glorious Quran: If anyone slew a person, unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land (for ‘just cause’ in accordance with the Law), it would be as if he slew the whole people! Quran [5:32]

If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (For ever): And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him. Quran[4:93]

Narrated by Anas ibn Malik The Prophet (saws) was asked about the ‘Kabair’ (Grave Sins) and he (saws) said, "They are:-- 1. To join others in worship with Allah, 2. To be undutiful to one's parents, 3. To kill a person (which Allah has forbidden to kill) (i.e. to commit the crime of murder), 4. And to give a false witness." SAHIH AL-BUKHARI [ VOL. 3 : Book 48: Hadith 821 ]

They have killed many innocents who were neither combatants nor armed, just because they Disagree with their opinions.

Recently, Shaker Wahib—who was affiliated with what was known at the time as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)—appeared in a YouTube video where he stopped unarmed civilians who said they were Muslims. He then proceeded to ask them the number of prostrations (rakahs) in specific prayers. When they answered incorrectly, he killed them. This is absolutely forbidden under Islamic Law and is a heinous crime.

2. They have killed the journalists, who are on the duty of showing truth to the world.

The Sunnah of our beloved prophet is that emissaries are never killed. Journalists—if they are honest and of course are not spies—are emissaries of truth, because their job is to expose the truth to people in general. ISIS has mercilessly killed the journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, even after Sotloff ’s mother pleaded with them and begged for mercy. Aid workers are also emissaries of mercy and kindness, yet they killed the aid worker David Haines. What you have done is unquestionably forbidden (haraam). In a recent crime they have beheaded a Japanese journalist, who had traveled to Syria to help the release of another journalists; this is totally and absolutely against what the Islam teaches its followers.

3. They call their criminal activity jihad. The reason behind jihad for Muslims is to fight those who fight them, not to fight anyone who does not fight them, nor to transgress against anyone who has not transgressed against them.

4. They have destructed the graves of prophets and companions, which is absolutely prohibited in Islam.

5. As for killing prisoners, it is forbidden in Islamic Law. Yet they have killed many prisoners including the 1700 captives at Camp Speicher in Tikrit in June, 2014; the 200 captives at the Sha’er gas field in July, 2014; the 700 captives of the Sha’etat tribe in Deir el-Zor (600 of whom were unarmed civilians); the 250 captives at the Tabqah air base in Al-Raqqah in August, 2014; Kurdish and Lebanese soldiers, and many untold others whom God knows. These are heinous war crimes.

6. They have threatned non-belivers to either convert or be killed. There is no compulsion in religion. Quran[2:256]

7. Their captives and some of those who were under their control have said that they tortured and terrorized them through beatings; murder and various other forms of torture, including burying people alive. they have decapitated people with knives, which is one of the cruellest forms of torture and is forbidden in Islamic Law (Shariah). In the mass killings they have committed—which are forbidden under Islamic Law—their fighters mock those they are about to kill by telling them that they will be killed like sheep, bleating and then indeed butchering them like sheep. their fighters are not satisfied with mere killing, they add humiliation, debasement and mockery to it.

8. There is agreement among scholars that a caliphate is an obligation upon the Ummah. The Ummah has lacked a caliphate since 1924 CE. However, a new caliphate requires consensus from Muslims and not just from those in some small corner of the world.

Omar ibn Al-Khattab said: ‘Whosoever pledges allegiance to a man without due consultation with Muslims has fooled himself; and neither he nor the man to whom he pledged allegiance should be followed for he has risked both their lives. SAHIH AL-BUKHARI[ Vol. 8, Book 82, Hadith 817]

Announcing a caliphate without consensus is sedition (fitnah) because it renders the majority of Muslims who do not approve it outside of the caliphate.

9. A united nation watchdog says that ISIS have been killing iraqi children belonging to different minorities in the country by crucifixion or burying them alive.

Islam is a religion of peace and mercy and our beloved Prophet mohammad(pbuh), was sent as a mercy for whole world. Islam in no way is a religion of harshness, brutality, torture and murder.

The creation of ISIS is a well planned conspiracy against the Muslims, to promote islamo-phobia, to promote miss conception about Islam, to tag Muslims as terrorists, to prevent spread of Islam etc. but let me remind those who plan such conspiracy against Islam, that our lord is better planner than you, and his plans are more concrete than yours. So you will not be able to do any harm to the beautiful deen of Islam, and in the end you will the losers.

They plot and they plan, and Allah plots and plans! And Allah is indeed the Best of Planners! Quran [8:30] And Allah alone knows the best.

I ask Allah to make this a sincere effort, seeking his pleasure, and I ask him to grant us refuge in him from the evils within ourselves, and that in our deeds. I ask him to grant us success in achieving whatever pleases him; And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his family and his Companions and on all those who follow him until the final hour.
