Question & Answer

Decorating house walls with quran verse pics?

Is it permissible in Islam to hang the quran verses on the walls, to decorate our homes?

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We begin with Allah’s blessed name, we praise him and we glorify him, seek his forgiveness and ask him to guide us. Whoever Allah guides, None can lead astray and whoever he misguides, None can guide. There is no power and no strength except from Allah, The most high, the Most great, the most powerful. We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. We pray for peace and blessings on all the noble messengers and in particular on the last of them all “the blessed prophet Mohammad (pbuh)”

Allah says in the Quran: Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down: this Book is a Perfect Guidance for mankind and consists of clear Teachings which show the Right Way, and are a Criterion of the Truth and falsehood. QURAN[2:185]

Allah says in the Quran: We have sent down to you this Book, which makes everything plain, and is a guidance, blessing and good news to those who have surrendered themselves entirely. QURAN[16:89]

Dear brother Quran is the book of guidance, which consists of clear Teachings, which show the Right Way, makes everything plain, is a blessing and good news to those who have surrendered themselves entirely, says everything directly and is Criterion between the Truth and the falsehood. it is book showing right path and was not reveled to be used as decorating material on walls. The main purpose of its revelation is the Guidance of mankind to the Straight Path.

There is absolutely no evidence that our beloved prophet (pbuh) or his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) ever hung the verses of Quran on the walls of their houses.

However scholars are of opinion that if one wishes to hang the verses of quran on the walls, to recite them when ever he looks at it, then there is absolutely no harm. And Allah alone knows the best.

I ask Allah to make this a sincere effort, seeking his pleasure, and I ask him to grant us refuge in him from the evils within ourselves, and that in our deeds. I ask him to grant us success in achieving whatever pleases him; And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his family and his Companions and on all those who follow him until the final hour.
